  • As a network administration consultant, you go onsite to your client's location once a week for 4 hours. This client has 35 computers and three servers. The client is not undertaking any significant projects in the near future. List the activities you would perform for this client during your weekly visits.

Network Administration Consultant



Job Description:

IS Support is looking for a highly-motivated network administrator consultant to fulfill technology needs for our clients. The job consists of maintaining multiple client relationships in a wide range of industries. This includes supporting a diverse set of computer networks and maintaining a stable computer network at each client's site. The ideal candidate will have the ability to install new Microsoft networks, troubleshoot existing Microsoft networks and existing machines, and repairing any security or network vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will be interacting with our clients diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a network administrator role.

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain firewall's and VPN's as the network administrator. Determine, evaluate and diagnose network and application performance issues and recommend and implement solutions as the primary network administrator. Use good judgment and effectively solve problems. Manage backup and recovery procedures in a network administrator role. Provide Network documentation (maintain inventory of computer systems, servers, and software). Maintain server and desktop patch management. Coordinate purchase of hardware, software and supplies. Provide technical support to end users as the sole network administrator contact. Job Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of small and medium business consulting experience. Mid-level network administrator experience required. Extensive experience with Active Directory, NT/200x, MS Exchange, and Windows based systems in small and medium businesses environment as a network administrator. MCSE and CCNA certifications are a plus. Extensive Network management and troubleshooting experience. Experience installing, supporting, maintaining, monitoring, and performing diagnostics of Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and related hardware and software in a network administrator role for small and medium businesses. Network administrator experiences with the Cisco or SonicWall product line and a very good understanding of firewalls and Network security measures. Strong PC skills Strong Project Management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills Exceptional customer service skills are required.
